Moles live in underground palaces in their country of Taro Netra, constantly at war while putting on displays of peace and unification. Moles live in clans, each with its own noble leader, which in turn answer to the Emperor.
Moles are stocky creatures, ranging from 5 to 7 inches in height. Moles cannot see, instead they have an instinctive sense of where things are, and have an acute sense of touch and smell. They have broad shoulders and stubby legs, and are covered in coarse fur that ranges from black to light brown in color. A mole’s long arms end in fingers tipped with deadly-looking claws, though these are mainly used for digging rather than fighting. Moles often wear drab looking clothing, though it is often texturally very intriguing.
Mole society seems intricately organized, with numerous lords owing fealty to more powerful shoguns, each in turn owing fealty to Emperor Dai’sho. The machinations of the nobles do not have much of an effect on the common mole, however, who primarily spend their days raising worms for beasts of burden and food. Another major profession for moles (though not widely talked about with members of other races) is the digger, widening the territory of the moles and secretly opening up tunnels in the major cities for espionage.
